Postpartum mood check-ins: a gentle guide

The fourth trimester can swing between tenderness and tears. A short daily mood check-in will not diagnose depression — but it can help you notice patterns and know when to reach for human support.

  1. 01

    Pause once a day

Same rough time makes patterns easier to see.

  2. 02

    Tap how you feel

Honest and simple beats perfect journaling.

  3. 03

    Add a private note

Optional — only if it helps you.

  4. 04

    Reach out early

Show patterns to a clinician when something feels off.

Why a mood check-in helps

Sleep loss and hormones can make days hard to remember accurately. A simple log — how you felt today, optional notes — creates a clearer picture for you and, if you choose, your clinician.

This is wellness tracking only. It is not a clinical diagnosis of depression, anxiety, or any condition.

Baby blues and when to seek more help

Many people notice tearfulness or mood swings in the first two weeks. If low mood, anxiety, anger, or numbness lasts, deepens, or includes thoughts of harm, contact your clinician, a crisis line, or emergency services immediately.

You deserve support without proving you are “sick enough.” Early help is care, not failure.

Keep sensitive feelings private

Share only what feels safe. In WombVibe, private mood notes and reason tags are not sent through Partner Sync.

If a seven-day sad or overwhelmed pattern appears in Partner View, it is a gentle in-app signal in this version — not a remote emergency alert. Still call real-world help when you need it.

How Mood Check works in WombVibe

Open Care → Mood Check to log how you feel and review patterns over time. Pair with Mom’s Recovery for gentle postpartum body notes if that helps.

If you feel unsafe or thoughts of harm appear, contact local emergency or crisis resources and your care team right away — do not wait on the app.
